Piankatank Geezer Guys

The Geezers Guys is an organized group of golfers who have been playing golf at the Piankatank River Golf Club in Hartfield Virginia for over 25 years.  We play every Tuesday morning at "The Tank" and play at OTHER COURSES in the Tidewater region on Thursdays.  We currently have 70 members, mostly retirees from all over the area who range in age from 51 to 91 and represent all skill levels. 

HOW ARE WE ORGANIZED?

Our group is run by a STEERING COMMITTEE of nine members who share the duties required to keep the group running smoothly.  We have an established set of BYLAWS that outline how we are organized and how we operate as a group.  Playing golf is our only priority with two regularily scheduled rounds a week and two ANNUAL TOURNAMENTS. Additionally we maintain a season LEADERBOARD have a variety of annual AWARDS.

HOW DO WE PLAY?

We follow the established rules of the USGA but have developed a few special GEEZER RULES for unusual situations to keep play fair and enjoyable. Our regular rounds are usually individual stroke play format with handicaps.  Members are required to have or establish a handicap and are assigned a tee based on their age and handicap. HANDICAPS and TEE ASSIGNMENTS are maintained by our statistician.

We play for the fun of the game and the comradery of the Geezer Guys.
